Performers
Who can perform in TubaChristmas?
Tuba, euphonium, and baritone performers of all ages can perform in TubaChristmas.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your instrument, a music stand, and a towel for personal floor cleanup. Optionally, you may bring a portable stool or harness if desired (there is no seating at the performance).
Will music be provided?
Carols for a Merry TubaChristmas will be available for purchase in bass and treble clef if you don't already have a copy.
Can I purchase music before the event?
Music is available for purchase the day of the event. If you would like to make separate arrangements with me to purchase and pick up a copy earlier, please send me an email.
Where is rehearsal located?
Rehearsal is hosted by First United Methodist Church at 1201 Lavaca St, Austin, TX 78701. We will be in the Sanctuary Hall, which is where we have been for the past three years. There is a screenshot below showing which building that is.
How will we get to the capitol from the rehearsal for the performance?
We will walk from the church rehearsal space to the capitol performance location (see blue path in screenshot below). The walk is approximately 10 minutes.
Can I decorate my instrument?
Yes, and you are encouraged to do so! Please also feel encouraged to dress festively yourself!
Will the event be canceled in the case of inclement weather?
Only in the event of life-threatening lightning.
